Days 7-10 Adelaide

Day 9 Adelaide/Barossa Valley Food and Wine Tour

The Barossa Valley is famous for its fertile vineyards and traditional wineries, but knowing where to find the best of them requires local knowledge. On this tour, begin with pickup at your Adelaide hostel, and sit back and relax while your guide sheds light on the winemaking process. You’ll visit 3-4 cellar doors, Maggie Beers Farm Shop and enjoy a delicious lunch at Kies Winery.

Day 11 Adelaide to Flinders Ranges

Embark on your eight-day outback adventure from Adelaide at 6 am. Begin with a caffeine stop at Port Wakefield before heading to the Southern Flinders Ranges. Enjoy a morning hike at Alligator Gorge in Mount Remarkable National Park. Explore Quorn, known for the Pichi Richi Railway. Day 12 Ikara - Flinders Ranges National Park

Lace up your hiking boots after breakfast for a captivating morning hike, passing by majestic river red gums and serene waterholes, offering awe-inspiring views of the wilderness. Indulge in a scenic drive at Brachina Gorge before quenching your thirst at a charming country pub.

Day 13 Flinders Ranges to William Creek via the Oodnadatta Track

Today, venture off the beaten path along the renowned Oodnadatta Track, one of Australia's iconic unsealed roads. Traverse through otherworldly desert landscapes, revealing captivating sights such as Lake Eyre, the largest salt lake in Australia, and the Mutonia Sculpture Park. By late afternoon, arrive at the charming outback settlement of William Creek, a quirky town along the way to somewhere, with just ten residents, epitomising the spirit of the South Australian Outback. After dinner, savour a refreshing drink at the heritage-listed William Creek Hotel, established in 1887.

Day 14 William Creek to Coober Pedy

Following breakfast, proceed to the renowned underground town of Coober Pedy, Australia's opal capital, renowned for its sun-baked lunar landscape, captivating history, and distinct way of life. Explore the town before visiting Josephine's Gallery & Kangaroo Orphanage. Established in 2008, this facility cares for orphaned kangaroos from northern South Australia. After lunch, immerse yourself in the town's main attraction, the Umoona Opal Mine & Museum. Engage in 'noodling' or fossicking and witness an opal-cutting demonstration, delving into the secrets of these precious gemstones. Tonight, stay in a distinctive underground bunkhouse.

Day 15 Coober Pedy to Watarrka/Kings Canyon

Upon entering the Northern Territory, proceed to Watarrka National Park, home to Kings Canyon. After lunch, delve into the Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience to learn about the world's oldest living culture. Embark on a short walk while absorbing your host's expertise on bush tucker, bush medicine, dot painting symbols, local crafts, and bush paintings. By late afternoon, reach the Kings Creek Station campsite, offering a tranquil setting and the option for a refreshing swim in the pool on warmer days. Capture the captivating desert sunset from the sunset viewing platform.

Day 16 Watarrka/Kings Canyon to Uluru

Embark early morning on the captivating Kings Canyon Rim Walk, an enchanting experience that will leave an indelible mark. Marvel at the 300-metre-high sandstone walls, hidden waterholes, fern forests, chasms, canyons, and caverns of Watarrka National Park, an oasis in central Australia. Immerse yourself in the 360-degree views, traverse Priscilla's Crack from the iconic film, and witness the majestic Lost City sandstone domes and the lush greenery of the Garden of Eden watering hole. As the day draws to a close, witness an unforgettable sunset over Uluru, before returning to camp. Day 17 Uluru

Witness the captivating sunrise over Uluru, as the changing sunlight transforms the rock formations before your eyes. Marvel at the grandeur of this 550-million-year-old natural wonder, standing at 348 meters high. Immerse yourself in its presence during a guided 10km Uluru base walk, where you'll discover hidden caves, tranquil waterholes, and seek solace under the shade of magnificent Sheoak trees. After lunch, deepen your understanding of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park at the Cultural Centre, where exhibits and presentations by Anangu and park rangers reveal the rich Anangu culture and the park's natural environment. Enjoy your free time at camp, unwind by the pool or partake in activities at Ayers Rock Resort, followed by a delicious dinner.

Day 18 Kata Tjuta to Yulara to Alice Springs

Start your final day with an early wake-up call to witness the mesmerising sunrise at Kata Tjuta. Known as the "Many Heads" with its 36 domes, Kata Tjuta holds both topographical and spiritual significance in the Red Centre. Embark on the Valley of the Winds guided walk, immersing yourself in the breathtaking landscapes and learning about the local Anangu culture and their sacred stories. After the three-hour circuit, the tour concludes in the late morning upon returning to Yulara. Then jump on the bus to Alice Springs.

Days 18-20 Alice Springs
